On Friday, September 11, 2020 our School Director, Ms. Lady Didyasarin Tavedikul, our Principal, Ms. Amy Marx and our Business Manager, Mr. Danai Thanpatranont attended the 1st town hall meeting of the year at Renaissance Hotel in Bangkok.

His Excellency Minister of Education, Mr. Nattaphon Teepsuwan gave an opening speech under the topic “Challenging Times During COVID-19: From Crisis to Opportunity”. He praised all the international schools in Thailand for collaborating and having done an excellent job with our adjustment to quality online learning. He requested for international school leaders and staff to contribute in helping to create change and quality education to state schools due to international schools know how in effective teaching and learning strategies, PD, and innovative curriculum.

ISAT also took time to thank and provide gifts for key government leaders who offered significant support to international schools during the COVID-19 crisis.

Some of the key issues that were addressed at the meeting include updates in terms of key issues that ISAT helped to accomplish from liaising with the Thai government during the COVID-19 crisis particularly on foreign teachers’ work permit and visas, government mandates regarding school operations protocols, professional development opportunities and PD initiatives by ISAT, and a special meeting that will be organized for international kindergarten schools in Thailand.

Our school leaders had a wonderful opportunity to connect and engage in meaningful discussions with the leaders of many other international schools in Bangkok.
