Middle school students culminate learning expedition on war and peace

D-PREP students presenting during the war and peace culmination

D-PREP International School’s middle school students (Grades 6-8) officially culminated their war and peace learning expedition with an unforgettable event last Saturday afternoon at Central World.

The war and peace expedition aimed to help students learn about conflict and the effects of war on society. To learn more about this, the middle school students interviewed experts like activists, the military, business owners, the son of a prisoner of war, and even a citizen from Ukraine.

The middle school learners crafted stories from the interviews and compiled them in a book that was presented and distributed to the audience at Central World.

The culminating event started with a welcome speech from the school director Ms. Lady and the principal, Mr. Bob. It was then followed by statements from the middle school students who explained what they did and what they learned from the expedition.

For this expedition, Mr. Greg Lange, co-founder of the non-governmental organization BKK Help Community, and other guests were invited. The students also talked to Mr. Lange and learned about how he founded the NGO.

The presentations ended with a video summarizing what the students did for the expedition and a special rendition of One Day by Matisyahu.

BKK Community Help and this learning expedition on war and peace inspired middle school students to come up with an NGO that helps the homeless in Bangkok and Samutprakarn. Their NGO is called Fresh Hope Foundation and was showcased during the event with fundraising activities.

We want to thank everyone who participated in our war and peace culmination. We will continue helping those in need through our NGO and with the support of the D-PREP Community!
